TSL stands for Throat Seal Liquid, a lubricant that prevents the buildup of foam or polyurea material in the pump throat. The replacement bottle comes pre-filled with TSL and has a check valve that prevents backflow. You can simply swap out the old bottle with the new one without any cleaning. To monitor the TSL level, you can use a marker to mark the fill line on the bottle. If the bottle is low or empty, you need to add more TSL to the fill line.
